Coronavirus update

Tuesday 17 March 2020

Dear Friends,

We have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our groups from today.

It is with enormous regret that we find ourselves in these very difficult and uncertain times.

As we have continuously followed NHS England and government guidance, this guidance is now that we should now avoid social gatherings, particularly with those who are elderly or vulnerable.

Our aspiration is to continue to deliver a service in whatever way we can, and we are outlining some ideas for your consideration. We would welcome your thoughts, creativity and ideas about what would help you during this time.

How can we help….?

  • Picking up shopping?
  • Urgent supplies?
  • Posting letters?
  • Resource packs with things to do, puzzles, quizzes and activities?

Activities to do at home?

  • Daily or weekly quizzes?
  • Word searches?
  • Potting plants?
  • Colouring / drawing?

To keep in touch?

  • Weekly emails?
  • A friendly phonecall?
  • Virtual groups (by video call e.g. FaceTime / Zoom)?
  • Join a WhatsApp group with Aphasia Re-Connect friends?

Please let us know and share your thoughts

Over the coming weeks, we are here to support you in whatever way we can.

With all good wishes,

Sally
